The exquisite Victorian home Belmont, built in 1890, was until very recently the family home of Mrs. Jillian Holst, of Jarman’s The Picture Framer and Eastgate and Holst Gallery. E.J Ainger Pty Ltd is extremely privileged and excited to be offering the furnishings and the eclectic fine art collection of Mrs. Holst, as she attempts to downsize in order to fit her new modern townhouse in St. Kilda.
Her art collection includes, two typical Victorian landscapes by Sir Arthur Streeton, and a beautiful pastel by Janet Cumbrae-Stewart, amongst a myriad of other works of art.
Mrs. Holst’s mother, Mrs. Grenville, also of Brighton, has included in the sale a beautiful collection of Georgian furniture, bought in the United Kingdom, between 1950-1980. The highlight being, a most extraordinary Regency Scottish work sofa table.
The sale will also include the decorative arts belonging to the late Mrs. Swinton, which includes a large collection of Royal Doulton porcelain.
We cordially invite you to view this fine ensemble in situation, during the above-mentioned viewing times.
